WHY I WALK
“I walk because Abigail and Michael lost their Dad to cancer when they were just 7 and 4 AND they lost their Mom to cancer last year at ages 19 and 16. When my cousin lost her husband to cancer her words were simple but powerful. She wrote, ‘I've learned that no matter where you look, you can see someone whose life has been affected by cancer in one way or another. Whether it's the fight, the victory or the defeat it's a real thing. It's funny how we live with the ‘Not me...Not now’ attitude. But it comes into your life like a wrecking ball. When you hear the words ‘You've got cancer’ your life as you have know it will never be the same anymore. It changes so many things. It gives you no choice other than to put the gloves on and give it your all, at any cost!’ I walk because how lucky am I that I can!” 💜
